ADDICTION SERVICES

West Dunbartonshire Addiction Services provide integrated health and social care services for individuals living with problems linked to drug and/or alcohol misuse.

West Dunbartonshire Addiction Services provides integrated health and social care services for individuals with problems linked to drug and/or alcohol misuse.

In delivering our services, staff will consider the physical, medical and social needs of individuals.

This along with the use of Integrated Care Planning of services means that we can ensure our local services and indeed the care plans of individuals are focussed on their specific needs.

Some of the services offered by Addiction Services include:-

  • Assessment and Care Management
  • Information and AdvIce
  • Recovering, rehabilitation and relapse prevention
  • Harm Reduction
  • Detoxification programmes

Services will also support people to:

  • Regain and sustain a stable lifestyle
  • Access education, training and employment services
  • Participate in meaningful activities as members of their community
  • Improve family and other relationships

There are four different levels of service delivery, these enable clients to be referred to and access appropriate types of support.  In conjunction with the voluntary sector a variety of supports and choices are offered to individuals who may access our services either directly or by referral by another organisation.

Future of Addiction Services Team (FAST)

The establishment of the Future of Addiction Services Team (FAST) ensures that the voice of those who are currently or have previously accessed local services is heard in the ongoing planning and delivery of local services.  Representatives from FAST sit on the Client Involvement Steering Group and on the Alcohol and Drug Partnership, the group which directs strategic development continues to be progressed with the client placed firmly at the centre of the planning process.
